about

From the north of Portugal, Johnwaynes are Jepe and MrBeat , delivering their third EP on Black Label.
This time an adaption from an Astor Piazolla classic, which the Portuguise clarinette ensemble Ad Libitum recently played live, Johnwaynes recorded that and added their unique house production skills.

Llorca contributed some very nice and catchy remixes here.
By the way, this is not the first Libertango in clubland, maybe you remember Grace Jones adapted it and some Acid House boys in the late Eighties, too.
Girl, I'll tango you!

Johnwaynes have been around for over six years now and through this time their music captured the world. Not only geographically but aesthetically as well.

With their mixture of broad musical styles they released a well number of records on prestigious labels such as Japanese Mule Musiq, Endless Flight, Groovement or Optimus Discos. This is their third release on Compost Black Label after their debut „Muzzle“ (Black Label 32) in 2008 and „Seaside EP“ (Black Label 38) in 2009. The numerous collaborations with lovely Siri Svegler, Yannah, Stee Downes and Lady Bird, helped the Portuguese duo to enrich their journeys of “colors, textures and sensations”
Johnwaynes’ live and Dj sets are filled with their uplifting attitude and reflect everything that’s in their souls, heads and veins. When they play, the room is filled with their catching energy and it’s damn hard not to move your feet on the dancefloor.

“Libertango” basically combines that spirit. A massive Tango-influenced track with a music video full of memories of the profound Argentina, origin of Tango and Astor Piazzola, composer of the original Libertango.
