After a busy year in 2008 touring Europe for gigs and releasing & remixing on labels including Four:Twenty, Diynamic, Faze Action, Manuel Tur & Dplay and Laka, Jay Shepheard returns to his home label Compost Black for another killer 4 track EP.

Kicking off on the A1 Shepheard flexes his disco muscles with "Absolute Voltage" - a nifty mid tempo electronic groove pinned down with rocking percussion and finished with retro flavor melodies and a light dusting of syn-toms. Yum!

Moving on to the the second A side cut "International Carpet" Jay drops a powerful tech house backing to an infectious Rhodes hook, setting the scene for the sweeping melody that ties the parts together with its subtle key changes.

Over on the B deep deep house is the order of the day with "Year To The Day". The harmonic looping vocal sample (courtesy of Faze Actions Robin Lee and D'amore), heavy jacking beats and blissed out chords ensure this one will rock the most discerning of dance floors.

Finally (available only on download) "A View From The Eighth" completes the package. Remaining the higher tempo range of Jays cross genre repertoire the haunting repetitive hook carries the track through its paces, inter-playing with melody and percussion to finish the EP in fine style....
