about

Please welcome dan MELA to the Compost Black Label crew.

dan MELA was born in Cambridge, Canada. He starts his professional DJ career in 1987. Promoter of unexpected new situations in the south of Italy, he spreads alternative vibes through the House scene.
In 1995, when he moves to Modena, he starts working with record companies, collaborating with Claudio Coccoluto, Pastaboys, and labels such as Marshmallow, Irma (as "Gattobianco"), Manocalda Records. His productions, especially the track "Retroit" (Street Vibes) become popular and gains respect by Rainer Trüby, Matthias Heilbronn, and Little Louie Vega.

dan MELA directs, together with Dodi Palese, 'SouthVibes' - a radio show which ranges from soul, jazz funk to the new beat scene, future jazz, and house music.

After 3 years of silence dan MELA is back with his debut on Compost Black Label.
"Jazzy Juice" is a mixture of classic strings and dope electronic effects with a monster bassline and jazzy influences.

On the flipside "INNdeep" is a big deep house mover with a wonderful pianoroll. A personal tribute to the old school sound, and the title is the name of the legendary record shop where dan MELA is involved and working for.
