Hailing from the north of Portugal, Johnwaynes are Jepe and MrBeat. Formed 3 years ago, the jointly journey began occasionally with the request of the Portuguese pop band "Loto" to remix one of their album singles.

Jepe, is a music collector and a DJ since 1995. Actually he is working as booking manager of one of the best Portuguese house clubs called "Estacao Da Luz" where he spins himself on the famous Saturday nights. MrBeat (Antonio Bastos), musician since he was born, with several masters in jazz formation, percussion and new musical technologies, is the real live stage man! As owner of his own studio he produces several rock bands, Portuguese traditional music and chorals. He is playing around the country invited by the all kinds off musicians from soul, funky, new jazz to fado and celtic.

They debuted in 2007 with the "Standalone EP" on the new born Portuguese label Bloop. The track "Violeta" appeared in several DJ charts around and was supported by Toby Tobias and Alexkid. More recently they dropped the "Retouch EP" on Brique Rouge achieving worldwide recognition. Remixes were contributed by label owner and friend Llorca himself.

Now, joining the Compost Blacklabel family with the brand new "Muzzle", once again they deliver real soulful house music featuring the legendary voice of "Tower of Power" Hubert Tubbs!
