about

Blacklabel #31 is a true Balearic tearjerker - the perfect soundtrack for some early morning slap and tickle action on a lonely beach while the sun slowly rises above the warm see painting golden reflections on the gentle waves… On the B-Side we "Dropout" of this cheessy dream and enter the clubzone with more forward pouring "Tranentrekker" remix by Ben Mono. Great supplies by TJ Kong & Nuno Dos Santos.

Everyone who takes his deep house music seriously can't have missed 'Merging' the last few months. The successful single on Compost Records featuring vocals by house legend Robert Owens solidified the cooperation between TJ Kong (Erwin van Moll) and Nuno Dos Santos. Two Dutch producers / DJs with a passion for warm-blooded house, lush melodies and intoxicating, deep bass lines.

When they met by chance in 2006 the idea was born to make a Brazilian-influenced version of 'Circus Bells', the Robert Armani techno classic from 1990. After exactly one night in the studio they had a demo and a week later Compost Records had signed the track. Good news travels fast… good demos too.

Van Moll is an experienced producer who (as Max 404) was one of the main protagonists giving birth to the 'Eindhoven techno sound' during the early 90s. He has released records on labels such as Mo' Wax, Djax, Evolution/Universal Language and Eskimo Recordings and did remixes for David Holmes, Kirk Degiorgio, Steve Poindexter and Gerd. The last few years he has played every major club in the Netherlands and abroad. He's also a member of Clashing Egos, a more pop-oriented project for German label 'Permanent Vacation'.

Dos Santos has built a very solid DJ-career over the last years and became resident for the party organization 'Full Spectrum'. Together with fellow Patrice Bäumel he is also involved into '360', an own monthly night at Club 11 in Amsterdam. Apart from being DJ he works as a graphic designer and has studied interaction design at the Utrecht school of the arts.

TJ Kong's experience and Nuno Dos Santos' enthusiastic energy have proven to be an ideal combination resulting in a number of potent singles. After 'Circus Bells', 'Merging' and this brand new 'Tranentrekker' single, they even plan to finish an album for Compost Records in autumn.
